LiveCoCo Review: Sustainable Dental Care Products [Updated 2025] – Living a more eco-friendly life is not always easy, because so many things we use daily are bad for our planet. Here we show you that you can get sustainable dental care. 

The dental care industry has a big impact on our environment. And while we can’t influence the products and practices dentists use, there are things we can do.

Oral hygiene is very important, but many of the products we use daily are bad for our environment, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, electric toothbrush heads and dental floss.

The majority of these products end up in landfill or in our environment, where they take years to break down, if they break down at all. 

The good news is, there are UK-based companies who have made it their mission to reduce this plastic waste and create eco-friendly oral care products.

So in this LiveCoCo review we look at their sustainable dental care products.

In-Depth LiveCoCo Review

Swapping products that we have been using for years for new ones can be a bit difficult. Especially when it comes to products that we use for the health of our mouth.

We want to make sure that we don’t compromise on results and end up having problems with our teeth.

That’s why I will look at specific criteria which will help you to make the right decision for your mouth and the planet.

These criteria include results, sustainability and value for money.

Sustainability – Green Credentials

The main reason you are looking at this review is because you want to live a more sustainable life, and you wonder if LiveCoCo has products that can help you do so, right?

Therefore, I will start my LiveCoCo review by thoroughly checking their green credentials.

One thing that I found very interesting is that this UK-based company initially started as a way to promote the benefits of the coconut.

But when they realised that the way they were running their business had a negative impact on the environment, they decided that they had to make changes.

So they re-focused and re-branded.  LiveCoCo didn’t just change the way they operated, but they changed the whole concept of their business.

That is a very brave thing to do and shows how serious they are about minimising the impact they have on our planet. They have put the planet before profit.

LiveCoCo is now a brand that sells sustainable products with a focus on eco-friendly dental care products. And they have minimised the amount of waste they produce.

Having identified that only a small amount of plastic is recycled, they set about to minimise their use of plastic.

Any plastic they do use, they take back and recycle to do their best to achieve that none of it ends up in landfill or the environment.

For this purpose, they have created their own closed-loop recycling system. This means that every plastic product and packaging that is sent back to them by their customers will be recycled in their facilities.

And that’s not all: they are also constantly looking for ways to further reduce their impact on our environment. Their main aim seems to be the eradication of plastic within their business. What a great aim!

The only downside about their recycle scheme is that you have to pay for postage yourself to send their products back to them.  Unless you buy more of their toothbrush heads or bamboo toothbrushes, then you get a free return label included.

Range Of Products

LiveCoCo has a good range of products, providing you with everything you need for a sustainable oral care routine.

Bamboo Toothbrushes

LiveCoCo‘s bamboo toothbrush range offers a more sustainable alternative to traditional plastic ones.

The bamboo is sustainably sourced and as it’s wood it is compostable, either on a compost heap or in the green waste bin.

The packaging is recyclable at home as it is made of cardboard.

The bristles are made from recyclable nylon, which means if you snap off the head and send it back to them, they get recycled.

You have choice of different types of bristles:

• Medium charcoal infused, which is said to whiten your teeth
• Medium bristles made from castor bean oil
• Soft nano bristles, which are thinner than normal bristles

LiveCoCo also has a junior range for the little mouths of children.

The majority of customer reviews show happy customers who get great results from these bamboo toothbrushes.

Recyclable Electric Toothbrush Heads

Their recyclable toothbrush heads are compatible with electric toothbrushes that use circular brush heads, including Oral-B, Asda, Tesco and Superdrug.

The heads and bristles are made from recyclable plastic, which means you can send them back to LiveCoCo to be recycled.

You have a choice between soft or medium bristles, which are also infused with charcoal for extra whitening. They also have a junior range, which has soft bristles and a smaller head to accommodate smaller mouths.

These recyclable brush heads are a perfect fit for an Oral-B electric toothbrush. During brushing, I didn’t feel any difference to when I used the branded ones.

I chose the soft bristles, and they cleaned my teeth well. 

The LiveCoCo brush heads come with coloured bands, which is great, because it means I won’t mix up my toothbrush with my husband’s. Yay!

The packaging is made from cardboard, which can easily be recycled at home, or you can throw it on your compost heap, which is what I did.

They now also have bamboo toothbrush heads that fit Philips Sonicar electric toothbrushes, which is great news if you have one of those.

Toothpaste Tablets

Toothpaste tablets are a great zero-waste alternative to toothpaste. The ones from LiveCoCo come in a recyclable aluminium tin.

You have the choice between tablets with or without fluoride. Which is great, because not all toothpaste alternatives include fluoride.

They also sell whitening tablets, which don’t contain fluoride. And there are tablets specially formulated for children with Buttermint flavour and fluoride.

The LiveCoCo toothpaste tablets are easy to use and will foam lightly. 

There are many happy customers who love these tablets and believe they clean their teeth well.

Natural Eco Floss

Our research has shown that dental floss is particularly bad for our environment. So finding a more eco-friendly solution is great.

LiveCoCo offers natural dental floss that is made from corn fibre. According to their website, this makes their dental floss plastic-free.

It also says that the floss is biodegradable, however, they don’t mention under which circumstances and how long it will take to break down.

However, given that it is made from corn fibre, it has been made using a sustainable material, which makes it more eco-friendly than traditional floss.

The floss also comes in a re-usable glass jar with an aluminium lid. Both of which are endlessly recyclable.

Once you have the reusable container, you can buy refills, which come in compostable packaging.

The reviews of the LiveCoCo dental floss are very positive, with most customers saying it works well.

It’s strong and thin enough to glide easily between teeth without tearing.

Bamboo Interdental Brushes

Dentists say that interdental brushes are the best way to clean between your teeth. But traditional ones have a big impact on our environment, as they mostly end up in landfill.

With the LiveCoCo bamboo interdental brushes you can take care of your teeth while also having a clean conscion. 

The amount of plastic has been kept to a minimum, with the body being made of bamboo, which is compostable.

While the bristles are still made of plastic, they are BPA-free and recyclable. So you can send the interdental brushes back to LiveCoCo once you have done with them, so they can recycle them.

That way, no part of them will end in landfill, which means you reduce the burden on our planet.

The interdental brushes last up to 15 uses as long as you keep them clean and store them correctly. LiveCoCo only offers one size of bristles, which is 0.6mm. 

While there are only few reviews about the interdental brushes, these are all positive, saying they work well.

Nobody likes to overpay, right? So I had to include a section about value for money in my LiveCoCo review. Compared to many known brands you can buy in the supermarket, LiveCoCo’s prices are no more expensive.

In fact, for some products they are even cheaper. And you can buy in bulk, which will reduce the price even further. With items that you use on a daily basis, such as dental care products, this is great, because you know you will use them.

LiveCoCo also offers a subscription service, where you get your items on a regular basis sent to you without having to order them.

Not only is this very convenient, because you can just set the frequency you need and forget about it, it also makes financial sense, because you save 25%.

You can cancel or change your subscription at any time, so if things change, you don’t need to worry. Combine that with great results and a reduced impact on our environment, and you have great value for money.

It’s a great feeling to know that you are living a more sustainable life and reduce the waste you produce. 

For me, that is a big part of what value for money is about. It’s not necessarily that you pay the least amount of money, but that you get something for it, that is worth it.
