LiveCoCo Toothbrush Heads Review [UPDATED 2025] – Are you looking for electric toothbrush heads that can easily be recycled? My review will tell you all you need to know about this eco-friendly product.
I really don’t like throwing my electric toothbrush heads in the general waste bin. I know they will just end up in landfill, causing harm to our environment.
While they can be recycled in specialist recycling facilities, accessing these can be difficult for us because of where we live. So I was looking for an easier way to do my bit for the planet.
I found that some companies offer recyclable toothbrush heads, which you can send back to them to recycle.
LiveCoCo is one of them. So I decided to give it a go and reduce the plastic waste we produce in our household.
Here I will share my experience, so that you can decide if this is the path you want to go down too.
Why I Chose LiveCoCo
For me, it’s important that I only use products from companies that have ethical and environmentally friendly policies. I want to reduce my carbon footprint, which is only possible, if I use brands that themselves want to do the right thing for the planet.
That’s why I’m starting my LiveCoCo toothbrush heads review by explaining why they are a brand I can support with a clear conscience.
They are a UK-based brand, which is important. If you have read some of our other reviews and articles you will know that here at EcoHomeLife we encourage people to buy products that have been made in their home countries.
That’s because these products will have a smaller carbon footprint, as they haven’t been shipped around the world.
LiveCoCo didn’t start out as an eco-friendly brand. But when they realised that they were contributing to the plastic waste that harms our planet, they re-focused their business and re-branded it.
Now they try to use as little plastic in their products as possible. For products where they have to use plastic, they use recyclable plastic.
And they encourage their customers to send the used plastic products and packaging back to them, so they can recycle them.
I wish more companies would have a critical look at their business and re-adjust it to be more eco-friendly.
I’m not too keen on them shipping their products to customers worldwide though, as I don’t think this is the best for our planet. However, I do understand that as a business they have to make profits.
They genuinely seem to want to make a difference, so I’m sure they have assessed their environmental impact when shipping their products all around the world.

In-Depth LiveCoCo Toothbrush Heads Review
I want you to get as much use out of this LiveCoCo toothbrush heads review as possible. That’s why I will look at different criteria, which will help you to decide for yourself if this product is for you.
I will look at criteria such as value for money, compatibility and fit, results and ease of use of the recycling scheme.
Convenience: Order Process And Delivery
We all like things to be convenient. And if we are looking at switching to a new product, we want it to be just as easy to get as the old one.
I used to buy our electric toothbrush heads in the supermarket, which means I just picked them up with my weekly shop.
While you won’t find LiveCoCo toothbrush heads in the supermarkets, you can easily buy them on their website.
It’s easy to find what you want in their online shop. You can speed up the check-out process by using GooglePay, PayPal or ShopPay. You can also pay by credit/debit card.

Delivery was quickly: my toothbrush heads arrived within two days by Royal Mail. They were packaged in a paper envelope, which I could put in our recycle bin.
The brush heads themselves came in a little cardboard box, which is compostable, so I threw it on our compost heap. That’s great because it means that my plants will benefit from the nutrients.
You can also sign up to their subscription service, where they will send you your chosen toothbrush heads regularly. You can get them every three, six, nine or twelve months, depending on how many you order.
Not only does this make it even more convenient, but you can also save money by doing so.
Compatibility And Fit
There are quite a few electric toothbrush brands out there, so I am looking at how many the LiveCoCo heads are compatible with.
They sell round toothbrush heads which will work with Oral-B/Braun toothbrushes that come with a round brush. Unless you have an iO version, then it won’t work.
And they will also fit any Superdrug, Asda, Aldi and Tesco electric toothbrush that uses a circular brush head.
I have an Oral-B electric toothbrush and the LiveCoCo brush head fits it perfectly. It slid on easily and stayed on securely during brushing.
I didn’t feel any difference compared to when I was using the proper Oral-B brush heads.
The brush heads even come with coloured rings so that there is no risk that me and my husband mix up our toothbrushes. Phew!
UPDATE:
LiveCoco has now also bamboo toothbrush heads for Philips Sonicare electric toothbrushes. They are compatible with any Philips model that starts with HX3, HX6, HX8 & HX9.
The body is made from bamboo, which is home-compostable, although it might take some time as it’s a hardwood. The bristles and insert in the body are made from bioplastic made from castor beans.
Technically these are also compostable, but only in a commercial composting facility, so not on your compost heap. Remove them and discard them in your general waste bin. While this bioplastic is recyclable, UK recycling facilities can’t accept them.
That’s a shame, but at least they weren’t made from fossil fuel, which is better for our environment.
As it’s a new product, there aren’t that many reviews available yet. But the few that I could found suggest that the toothbrush heads fit well and do a great job.
Range
With traditional branded toothbrush heads you tend to have some choice. And because you don’t want to compromise on this when you swap, I included a section about the range of products in my LiveCoCo toothbrush heads review.
You can choose between soft bristles, which are what dentists recommend, or medium bristles that are infused with charcoal.
The charcoal-infused bristles help to remove impurities, including plaque, stains or bacteria.
Not sure if that is true, I opted for the soft bristles. But I have read before that charcoal bristles can help whiten your teeth.
Apart from these two options, LiveCoco also offers junior toothbrush heads.
These have a smaller brush head to accommodate the smaller mouths of children. The bristles are soft, to ensure their young teeth and gums don’t get damaged while brushing.
As far as possible ranges for toothbrush heads go, their range is quite good. And catering for children is always a bonus.
But LiveCoco also offeres a wide range of other eco-friendly toothcare products, including bamboo toothbrush heads that work with Phillips Sonicare electric toothbrushes, toothpaste tablets and teeth cleaning poweder, aluminium toungue scraper and eco-friendly floss.
You can basically buy everthing you need for your toothcare routine at LiveCoco.
I can also recommend their cyrstal salt deodorant, which is a budget friendly way to keep body odour at bay.
Results
I have been using an Oral-B electric toothbrush for years and always bought the Oral-B heads. But as I became more aware of how much waste we produce as a household, I looked at other options.
But of course, I don’t want to compromise on results. After all, it’s important to keep your mouth and teeth clean and healthy. So I had to include this section in my LiveCoCo toothbrush heads review.
During brushing, I didn’t feel any difference compared to the branded heads. The brush rotated the same way.
After brushing, my teeth felt and looked clean. The soft bristles were gentle on my gums, but clearly still did their job.
My husband wasn’t sure about the soft bristles at first, as he is used to medium bristles. He said it felt weird during brushing. But afterwards he was happy that his teeth felt clean.
I have been using the LiveCoCo toothbrush head for over a month now, and they are still in great condition. I was worried the soft bristles might start to bend, but so far all is good.
Value For Money
Money always seems to be tight, so getting value for money is very important. And my LiveCoCo toothbrush heads review wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t look at this topic.
Compared to the branded Oral-B heads, these are cheaper, especially if you sign up to their subscription service.
Not only will you always know when to change your heads, but you will also save money, brilliant!
But, because they have their own recycle scheme, you can be sure that your toothbrush heads don’t end up in landfill.
And you don’t have to compromise on results either. And for me this makes these LiveCoCo toothbrush heads definitely great value for money.
Recycle Scheme

The recycling scheme is the reason I wanted to try LiveCoCo, so this is an important part of my review.
Unlike other companies that take back their products for recycling, LiveCoCo doesn’t just send them on to TerraCycle. They have their own closed-loop recycling system.
This way they can be sure that their products are recycled. It does mean that they don’t accept any other brands, because their recycling process has been designed for their products only.
But they will not only recycle the toothbrush heads but also the bristles, which are made from recyclable nylon.
So no part of your LiveCoCo toothbrush head will go to landfill as long as you send it to them.
The only slight drawback is that you have to pay for postage yourself. Unless you buy a 12-pack, in which case you get a free recycling return label.
But given that toothbrush heads aren’t heavy, the postage to a UK address will not cost much. Besides, their electric toothbrush heads are very competitively priced.
Customer Reviews
Before I buy a new product, I like to see what other customers think. That’s why I am including a section about customer reviews in my LiveCoCo toothbrush heads review.
Of course, I share my experience with you, but I always think it’s better to have more than one opinion.
And I am pleased to say that the overwhelming majority of customer reviews are positive.
LiveCoCo has 4.7 stars out of 5 on Trustpilot. Although they only have just over 70 reviews. However, on their own website they have over hundred reviews for their toothbrush heads.
94% of these reviews have given LiveCoco a 4- or 5- star rating, which is quite impressive. And only 1% gave a 1-star rating.
The negative reviews mostly concern delivery issues, which will come up as packages do go astray.
On their own website they have 4.9 stars out of 5 from over 170 reviews, so plenty of happy customers.
Most of their customers agree that the brush heads fit their electric toothbrushes very well and that they clean just as well, if not better than the branded ones.
It’s always great to see that a brand has so many happy customers. This gives you confidence when buying from them.
I’ve been using the LiveCoco recyclable brush heads for some years now. They work very well, and I’m very happy with that aspect. The fact that they are recycled is also very important to me; a positive contribution, not an additional item for landfill.
5-Star Review On Trustpilot
I’ve ordered multiple times from live coco and am very happy with the toothbrush heads and customer service. They work really well and the recycling programme is great.
5-Star Review On Trustpilot
Conclusion
To conclude my LiveCoCo toothbrush heads review, I can recommend their toothbrush heads wholeheartedly.
They are compatible with a wide range of electric toothbrushes who use circular brush heads, including Oral-B/Braun, Superdrug, Asda and Tesco.
Because they offer soft and medium bristles, you can choose what suits your needs. The results are no different from a branded brush head, so you don’t have to compromise.
Because you can send your heads back once you are done with them to be recycled, you can be sure that you will not add to the plastic pollution that harms our planet.
And now they also offer bamboo toothbrush heads that work with Philips Sonicare electric toothbrushes, which is great if you have one of those.
