Bower Collective Review – Natural Cleaning Products [UPDATED 2025] – Swapping your cleaning products for eco-friendly alternatives can be a daunting prospect. That’s why I will tell you in my Bower Collective review, if their natural cleaning products are worth it.

On my journey to a more sustainable life, I have turned to cleaning products. Because traditional household cleaners contain harsh chemicals that harm us and the planet, I wanted to switch to eco-friendly alternatives.

Through research, I have learned that harsh chemicals are not necessary, despite what most of us think. Milder, natural cleaning products still work and are better for our health and the environment.

In this review I will scrutinise their natural cleaning products to help you decide if they are the ones for you.

Why I Chose Bower Collective

the Bower Standard

During my research into eco-friendly cleaning products I came across this UK-based company. They have a range of natural cleaning products, which they sell under the name of Bower on their Bower Collective website.

Apart from selling their own products, they also give other eco-friendly brands a platform to sell theirs. I love this, because it shows that they want to make a difference rather than just a profit.

Their mission is simple: they want to help people to live a more sustainable life by eliminating plastic waste. The Bower Collective wants to leave a better world behind for generations to come, a cause that’s close to my heart too.

They have even created the Bower Standard, which is a benchmark which their products have to meet, and sustainability is the core of this standard.

One thing I love about Bower is that they have created a no-waste closed loop system for their refill pouches. While these are plastic, they send you a pre-paid postal return label with every order.

Once you have returned your empty refill pouches, they either recycle them or, if they are their new BowerPack, they will clean them and reuse them.

It seems that at the moment not all refills come in the new reusable pouch, but the aim is to switch their entire range to it, which is brilliant.

You can also add other plastic items, such as lids and pumps, to the pre-paid envelopes and they will recycle them. This is truly a great system to eliminate plastic waste.

The carton can be recycled or composted, and the pouch is sent back to them for FREE.

They have now also added bigger refill options. Rather than just 1 litre refill pouches, you can buy 5 litre ones, which is great, as it saves plastic and money.

And those can also be sent back to them to be either washed and reused or recycled.

One thing I would like to see though is them selling their products as concentrates. This would lower their carbon footprint even more.

Bower ditched toxic chemicals, using natural ingredients wherever possible. This means that with their products you can be sure you won’t harm your family or the planet.

All of their products are also made in the UK, which is something that I love too, because it means that they don’t have to be shipped long distances.

And that’s why I have chosen the natural cleaning products from Bower.

In Depth Bower Collective Review – Natural Cleaning Products That Work

Most of us know that traditional chemical cleaning products are bad for us and the environment, but swapping to eco-friendly cleaners can feel a bit daunting.

After all, you want one that isn’t just better for the planet but that also works. That’s why I look at different factors in my Bower Collective review to help you decide.

These factors include value for money, ease of use and effectiveness.

Convenience

screen shot of bower collective basket page

But to start my Bower Collective review I will see how convenient it is to buy their natural cleaners. Convenience is important to most people nowadays. We just don’t want things to be difficult or time-consuming.

You can easily order them via their Bower Collective website. This means you cut out the middle man, which is more environmentally friendly.

Instead of Bower sending their products to a supermarket, where you then pick them up or get them delivered from, they send them directly to you.

Ordering directly on their website is easy and quick. You have several payment options, including credit/debit card, PayPal, GooglePay and shopPay.

If you create an account, reordering will be even quicker the next time. But the most convenient thing about ordering from the Bower Collective is that you can sign up for their subscription service.

All you have to do is choose in which intervals you want your products to arrive, anywhere between one and six months, and that’s it. You can forget about it and your cleaners will arrive in time before you run out.

And if things change, you can change your subscription or even cancel it. So you aren’t locked in a contract or something.

And you also save 10% by subscribing. That’s not just convenient but also brilliant.

My order was sent via Amazon Shipping, which is when they use the network of Amazon drivers. I received an email and a text message telling me when my order will be delivered.

That was great, because I could make sure I was in so as not to miss it. You can even track your parcel if you want to.

My Bower Collective products were well packaged up, with paper as filler material, which is recyclable. Even the tape was made of paper, which means I can pop the whole box into the recycling bin without fiddling around to remove the tape.

And I got a free return label for the refill pouches, so they can reuse them. I was really happy with my Bower Collective order.

Product Range

screen shot of bower collective website with product range

The next factor I want to discuss in this Bower Collective review is product range. There is a vast amount of different chemical cleaning products available.

We got used to having a product for different rooms and different tasks. And when we swap to eco-friendly cleaning products, we want the same.

Bower offers a good range of products:

  • All-purpose sanitiser spray
  • Toilet cleaner
  • Limescale remover
  • Bathroom cleaner
  • Floor cleaner
  • Glass & mirror cleaner
  • Multi-surface cleaning gel
  • Washing-up liquid
  • Various reusable bottles for their products

There is also a laundry liquid and a fabric softener.

The Bower Collective product range is extensive. They have everything that you could need to keep your home clean and safe.

One thing I would say is that if you use the all-purpose sanitiser, you probably won’t need the bathroom, floor and glass & mirror cleaner.

Apart from their own products, you can also find a wide range of other eco-friendly products on their website. All vetted and checked to ensure they meet the Bower Standard.

Effectiveness

One of the most important things about a cleaner is that it is effective, right? That’s why I’m including a section about how well these natural cleaners work in my Bower Collective review.

Many people believe that only harsh chemicals clean properly. That’s why some are sceptical about the effectiveness of natural cleaning products, as they are milder.

The good news is, that household cleaners that don’t use harsh chemicals work just as well and Bower’s cleaners are the proof of that.

I will briefly look at each product individually so that you can get an overview of the effectiveness of all their natural cleaning products.

All-Purpose Sanitiser Spray

Bower produces natural cleaning products without nasty chemicals

I love the idea of a general cleaner, because it means you only need one product to clean most of your home.

But of course, it has to work for all purposes. I am pleased to say that the Bower Collective all-purpose sanitiser spray is up for the job.

An overwhelming majority of their customers love their all-purpose cleaner, saying that it makes light work of grease and grime.

Some didn’t like the fragrances. They offer different scented cleaners and one unscented one. However, smell is something very subjective.

Toilet Cleaner

Another product that does what it’s meant to do without using harsh chemicals, such as bleach, is the Bower toilet cleaner.

Customers are really impressed with the cleaning power of the Bower Collective toilet cleaner. It can cope with limescale as well as stains.

Most people also like the smell, and they love that they don’t have to use any products with bleach.

Limescale Remover

If you live in a hard water area, like me, then a good limescale remover is a must. For me, the taps are the worst and most difficult to keep clean.

The Bower Collective limescale remover works a treat. And I’m not the only one who thinks that; other customers agree.

close up of kitchen mixer tap

I live in a very hard water area, so we have quite a problem with limescale. Our kitchen tap is the worst, because it’s used several times a day. Especially at the bottom, where it’s screwed into the worktop and where the hot and cold water meet can get quite bad.

Our kitchen cleaner just couldn’t handle it. But now that we use the Bower limescale remover our tap stays spotless. I use it about every three to four months to get rid of any limescale that has accumulated. And it gets the tap sparkly clean. Even my husband was impressed, and that’s no mean feat.

Bathroom Cleaner

Even though many people using the all-purpose cleaner say that it works great in the bathroom, you can get a dedicated bathroom cleaner.

The majority of people using the Bower Collective bathroom cleaner think it works brilliantly.

Some say they had to use the limescale remover for some areas as the bathroom cleaner couldn’t get rid of it.

Most people also liked the smell, but some didn’t. I found that this is fairly normal, given that people react differently to different fragrances.

All in all, this bathroom cleaner seems to do the job without the harsh chemicals.

Floor Cleaner

Bower Collective floor cleaner refill pouch

The Bower floor cleaner has received glowing reviews from their customers. Most were impressed how well it cleaned their floors despite needing so little product.

This means that this floor cleaner will go a long way, making it great value for money.

One thing I love about the Bower Collective floor cleaner is that it contains linseed oil soap, which nourishes wooden floors. Therefore, you don’t just clean your floors, but you also take care of the wood, keeping it looking great for longer.

Glass & Mirror Cleaner

Bower Collective glass and mirror cleaner refill pouch

The effectiveness of the Bower Collective glass and mirror cleaners doesn’t seem to be as good as their other products.

Quite a few people said that it left streaks or a residue. But others found it worked fine.

However, Bower seems to be working on improving the formulation to make this cleaner more effective.

Multi-Surface Cleaning Gel

Bower Collective multi-surface cleaning gel refill pouch

This gel is meant as a multi-surface cleaner for tougher stains. It comes concentrated so that customers can dilute it according to their needs.

Undiluted, the Bower Collective multi-surface cleaning gel can be applied directly to a greasy hob or oven. It’s also antibacterial, so great if that is needed.

Most people love this product. But some seem confused by it, as it comes as a gel, that is applied to a cloth to wipe the surface then wiped off with a damp cloth.

However, some people dilute it with a lot of water and use it as a sanitiser spray. That way, one refill pouch will go a long way.

However, it does lose its antibacterial properties if diluted at a high ratio.

Washing-Up Liquid

The Bower Collective washing-up liquid is a simple like for like swap minus the nasty chemicals.

You can get it with different scents, such as peach, grapefruit and lavender. I chose the peach scent and love it. It smells lovely sweet without being too powerful.

While it doesn’t lather up as much as the washing-up liquid I used before, it does still clean my dishes perfectly. You have to get used to there not being that much foam, otherwise you will use more product than you actually need.

The liquid is still in the sponge and will clean your dishes even without the foam.

Even burned on food is no problem for the Bower Collective washing-up liquid, which is great. I would say it works just as well as the leading brand (which I used before).

But Bower only uses natural ingredients, so no nasties. I don’t use gloves to do my dishes, as I don’t like them, and I am pleased to say that the Bower Collective washing-up liquid is very gentle on my skin.

Easy To Use

The next topic I want to look at in my Bower Collective review is how easy it is to use their cleaners. After all, cleaning can be a pain anyway, so you don’t want to make your job harder.

Because natural cleaners are milder, sometimes you need to put in a bit more effort to get the same results as with chemical cleaners.

The good news is that the Bower Collective cleaners that’s not necessary. All you have to do is to leave it for a bit, rather than wiping it off immediately.

The toilet cleaner you might want to leave overnight, for example. Often, you only have to leave it for 30 seconds or so.

Because they sell their household cleaners in refill pouches, you either need to buy a suitable dispenser from them or use one you already have at home. So keep that in mind.

All in all, I would say that these natural cleaning products are just as easy to use as traditional ones.

Value For Money

value for money

I often get asked if eco-friendly products are more expensive. It’s a valid question. After all, most of us have to live within their means.

That’s why I include a section about value for money in my Bower Collective review.

At first glance, their products look quite pricy. However, their refill pouches are 1 litre, most traditional cleaners come in 500ml or 750ml bottles.

While Bower Collective cleaning products aren’t the cheapest, they are mid-range in terms of price.

However, you get so much more than just an effective cleaning product. You get household cleaners that only use natural ingredients, which is better for your family and the environment.

You also reduce the amount of plastic in your home, which means you help to reduce the amount of plastic we use and produce.

For me, being able to have a zero-waste, zero-chemicals cleaning routine means you get value for money.

Customer Reviews

Buying a new product can sometimes be a bit daunting. After all, you don’t want to waste your money. So looking at customer reviews can help to reassure you or put you off.

While I am sharing my experience with the Bower cleaning products I have used in this Bower Collective review, it is never a bad thing to look at what others think too.

And to make it easy for you, I am doing the leg work for you.
