Delphis Eco Laundry Powder Review [UPDATED 2025] – There are several eco-friendly laundry detergents available, but choosing the right one for you can be tricky. So in my Delphis Eco laundry powder review I tell you all you need to know about this sustainable product.
I have tried quite a few eco-friendly laundry detergents to find the ones that work. I came across Delphis Eco by accident and wanted to try it out.
Especially, because so far, I have tried liquids, capsules and sheets, but no powder yet. I know that some people prefer powder detergents, so I’m pleased to be able to share my experience with this one.
So let’s get this Delphis Eco laundry powder review started…
Why I Choose Delphis Eco
Before I start my review, I want to explain why I have chosen this particular brand. If you have read any of my other reviews, you will know that here at EcoHomeLife we choose the products we try and review very carefully.
This UK-based company has made it its mission to create cleaning products that work but don’t cause harm to our environment. They started out making products for commercial cleaning, but then added a range for domestic use.
And all of their products are made here in the UK, keeping their carbon footprint as low as possible. This is important for me, because it’s just not sustainable to buy a product that has been made on the other side of the planet.
Delphis Eco only uses plant-based ingredients that will biodegrade and won’t harm aquatic life. They even got the EU Ecolabel, which is a certification for sustainable products. To get it they have to prove that their ingredients won’t harm the environment. And they can’t use certain chemicals at all.
While they package their products in plastic bottles, they are made from 100% recycled plastic. They use mostly used milk bottles from UK consumers and turn them into bottles for their products.
And their bottles can be recycled again once empty. This is great as it helps to reduce plastic waste. However, in the long-term we need to get away from using plastic as much as we can but in the meantime, this is a good way to deal with the plastic waste we produce.
There is only one complaint I have. The packaging for the laundry powder doesn’t appear to be recyclable. Their website does state that it is, but there is no mention of it on the packaging itself other than that it should be disposed of in accordance with local waste regulations.
Because it doesn’t say what the packaging is made of, I have to assume that I can’t put it in our recycling bin. I don’t want to risk contaminating the whole load, which would then have to go to landfill.
There is room for improvement here. I would suggest using packaging that can easily be recycled, such as cardboard. Their 8kg box of commercial laundry powder comes in a cardboard box.
Even so, Delphis Eco is a sustainable company that puts the planet first. All their products are also vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. And that’s why I choose them.

In-Depth Delphis Eco Laundry Powder Review
Now let’s look at the laundry detergent in more detail. If you are considering swapping to it, you will want to know exactly what to expect, right?
So I will look at different criteria and share my views and experience, so you can get the full picture, including ease of use, value for money and, of course, results.
Convenience
But first up: convenience. How easy is it to get hold of Delphis Eco Laundry Powder? Well, quite easy. You can order it via their website or on my favourite eco online store Veo World. It’s actually a platform that allows eco-friendly brands to sell their goods.
Online ordering is simple, quick and easy and will arrive in no time. I find that very convenient. I love that they offer a variety of payment options, including credit/debit card, PayPal, GoolgePay and ApplyPay.
You can even use Clearpay to pay in instalments, making it more affordable.
And all you have to do then is wait for the postie to deliver your eco-friendly laundry detergent. It will come packaged in recyclable packaging with no plastic in sight. What more could you want?
Ease Of Use
One advantage of powder detergent is that you can dose it according to your needs. So if you have a smaller load you can use less. Or if your laundry is particularly stained, you can use more.
This means you won’t use too much or too little, which is better for your budget and the planet. Because even if the ingredients are plant-based and biodegradable, you still only want to use what is necessary to minimise any impact on the environment.
The good news is that Delphis Eco gives very precise instructions for dosage. The amounts needed are based on 1kg of laundry (when it’s dry) and they differ for hard or soft water.
Then you need to decide how dirty your laundry is. Depending on whether the soiling is light, medium or heavy, the amounts needed also differ. And you even get a little scoop. So far so good.
But there is one issue: the scoop is 30g, according to their website. But the amounts range from 10g, 15g, 20g to 25g for 1kg of washing depending on how dirty it is and if you have soft or hard water.
At the beginning, this made doing the laundry very complicated. They do try to make it simpler on the website by saying that for 1kg of dry laundry you need one scoop, so 30g of washing powder.
But if it’s not very dirty, then I would only need 15g (hard water, light soiling). What I could really do with is a measuring cup that indicates 5g, 10g and 15g, so that it’s easier to use exactly the right amount.
However, after a while, you get used to it, and it gets much easier to get the dose right.
One thing I absolutely love about Delphis Eco’s laundry powder is that it’s designed to work at low temperatures. As I follow a sustainable laundry routine, which means I don’t wash any higher than 30°C, this is hugely helpful, especially because conventional powder detergents often don’t dissolve properly at lower temperatures.
Results
Now let’s get to one of the most important parts of my Delphis Eco laundry powder review: results. How well does it work?
In short: very well. I’m really impressed with its performance. I suppose that’s what you get from a company that has over 16 years worth of experience in commercial cleaning. It’s a non-bio laundry detergent, so if you have sensitive skin, it shouldn’t cause issues for you.
Our main concern when trying out a new laundry detergent is how will it cope with our gym clothes. We work out a lot, so there is a lot of sweaty gear to wash. And there is nothing worse than having to put on smell gym clothes, at least for us.
And I am pleased to report that the Delphis Eco laundry detergent delivered what it promised. The workout gear came out smelling fresh and free from any remnant of sweat. Even once the clothes were dry, they still had an agreeable scent, albeit subtle.
With some other detergents I tried, the workout clothes smelled fresh when they first came out of the machine, but when dry they smelled of sweat. So this laundry detergent has certainly excelled in this challenge.
But what about its ability to get rid of stains? Well, it didn’t have any problems with everyday stains. Even the stains from spices, such as turmeric, aren’t a problem. We love cooking with spices, but the downside is that they can stain clothes and tea towels.
And these stains aren’t always easy to get out. However, Delphis Eco’s laundry powder does, without having to pretreat them. That’s a big plus, as it makes doing laundry so much easier.
What about other tough stains? We are big gardeners, so our difficult stains come from mud, grass, blood (it’s amazing how often I cut myself when working in the garden) and much more.
The good news is that this laundry powder can deal with most of them brilliantly. All I have to do is use the amount for heavily soiled clothes and the vast majority of stains are gone. That’s the advantage of being able to change the amount of your detergent.
Some might need pre-treating, but I’m yet to encounter a laundry detergent that manages to get rid of every single stain.
All in all, I’m really impressed with the performance of the Delphis Eco laundry powder. My laundry comes out clean and smelling fresh, no matter how it looked or smelled when it went in. The scent is subtle, which is to be expected as they don’t use synthetic fragrances but essential oils.
Value For Money

Now let’s look at value for money. The Delphis Eco laundry powder is slightly more expensive than conventional laundry powders if you buy the 1.2kg bag.
However, that doesn’t mean that it will cost the earth. The 1.2kg pack will last for about 60 washes, according to Delphis Eco. And from my experience using it so far, that’s probably correct. This means you would have to pay 30p per wash at their current prices.
But if you buy their 8 kg box, you can actually save money, as it will last for 400 washes, which means it only costs 8p per wash. And it comes in a recyclable cardboard box, which I love.
And you get a laundry detergent that works brilliantly and only uses plant-based, biodegradable ingredients which won’t harm the environment or you. For me, that’s great value for money.
Customer Reviews
I have tested the Delphis Eco laundry powder rigorously for several weeks so that I can share my experience with you. But I also want to look at what other customers think.
On Trustpilot, this sustainable brand has the rating ‘Excellent’, with 4.7 stars out of 5 from over 100 reviews. Admittedly, most of the reviews talk about the cleaning products. But there are also reviews for the laundry powder.
94% of customers rated Delphis Eco’s products as either ‘Grate’ or ‘Excellent’. People absolutely love the performance of these cleaning products, including the washing powder and the fact that there are no harsh and harmful chemicals.
Like me, other customers think that their laundry detergent works brilliantly.
Only 4% gave a 1- or 2-star review. Many are about issues with deliveries, but some do say that the products they bought didn’t work.
There are also many on the Delphis Eco website, which show that the vast majority of their customers are happy with the product’s performance.
It’s always reassuring to know that actual consumers, who use the products, are happy and would recommend them.
I am enjoying all the products I got from Delphi’s eco.

The washing powder is brilliant, I’m using a soup spoon as a measure instead of a scoop!
The bathroom cleaner is doing a great job. The other products are brilliant too. No regrets.
Customer service is good too.
Really quick delivery….and a really good product.

Verdict
All that’s left now is to conclude my Delphis Eco laundry powder review with my verdict. I have tried quite a few eco-friendly laundry detergents and this powder is one of the best ones so far.
Yes, figuring out how much to use can be a bit tricky, but after a while you’ll get the hang of it. And the results are more than compensating for this. Stains are no issue any more and my laundry looks and smells fresh, even our sweaty gym clothes.
The scent is subtle but refreshing, which is just what I want. And all this is achieved without any nasty chemicals, such as phosphates or optical brighteners. All the ingredients are plant-based and biodegradable, which means they won’t harm aquatic life.
It won’t cost you the earth either. While the smaller 1.2kg bag is slightly more expensive than conventional laundry powder, with the 8kg box you will save money. So you can be sure to get great value for money.
Other customers agree with me and love the Delphis Eco laundry detergent just as much. So if you are looking for an eco-friendly laundry powder, look no further. You just found it!
