My Eco Warrior Shampoo Bar Review [UPDATED 2025] – Solid shampoos are a great way to reduce the environmental impact of your personal care routine. In my Eco Warrior shampoo bar review I will tell you how I got on with this one.
It’s always an exciting moment when I try a new shampoo bar. Knowing that conventional shampoos aren’t the best for the environment, I’m keen on testing as many solid bars to help others find the shampoo bar for them.
One thing that is really important for me is that I buy from companies that are truly sustainable, because only then can I be sure that the switch will help me to live a more sustainable life.
To make the switch easier for you, I do all the leg work, finding the brands that are worth switching to, so you don’t have to.
So without further ado, let’s get my Eco Warrior shampoo bar review started.
Why I Chose the Little Soap Company
Eco Warrior is a range of solid care products by the Little Soap Company. I love the name of the range, even if some people might not like to be called an eco warrior, I don’t mind.
The company is based in the lovely Cotswolds and was started by a woman on a mission. Not being able to find natural soaps that wouldn’t harm the planet, she decided to make her own. From a few soaps handmade in her kitchen, she built a business that has nature at its heart.
The Little Soap Company makes all their products in the UK, using natural ingredients that won’t harm the planet. From a few handmade soaps, the company expanded and now offers a wide range of eco-friendly products.
No Petrochemicals Used
They don’t use nasty or harmful chemicals. And while the vast majority of their ingredients are naturally derived, small quantities are synthetic. They are very open and transparent about this. The thing is, synthetic isn’t necessarily bad or harmful.
What’s important is what the source material is. If it’s petroleum, which is a fossil fuel, that’s bad for more than one reason. The use of fossil fuels to create petrochemicals is bad for the environment and often these chemicals are toxic or harmful.
But if the source material is plant-based, the resulting chemicals tend to be biodegradable and non-toxic. And that’s the kind of synthetics the Little Soap Company uses.
They do use palm oil, but only from RSPO-certified suppliers. This means the palm oil they use has been grown sustainably without causing deforestation.
Zero-Waste Packaging
In terms of packaging, they try to be as plastic-free as possible. All their solid bars come in 100% recyclable and compostable cardboard boxes. Some of their products come in plastic bottles, which isn’t great.
They say that they only use PET plastic bottles, as these are highly recyclable and biodegrade in about 50 years, no time at all compared to other plastics that take hundreds of years.
This is a bit disappointing, because the plastic used is made from petroleum, and 50 years is still a long time. I appreciate that they have already removed many of their liquid products that come in plastic, but I would like to see them go fully plastic-free in future.
All their products are also vegan and cruelty-free, which is also very important to me. And that’s why I chose the Little Soap Company.

In-Depth Eco Warrior Shampoo Bar Review
Having tried and tested many shampoo bars, I know what matters. And to make this review as useful as possible for you, I will focus on the most important factors you will consider when deciding which shampoo bar to go with.
So I will be looking at things like value for money, results and ease of use. This means you can get a good understanding of whether it’s the solid shampoo for you.
Convenience
The first factor I want to start with though is convenience. Unlike other shampoo bars from small brands, you can actually pick your Eco Warrior shampoo bar at some supermarkets, including Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
Or if you want to have it even more convenient, you can order it on Amazon, where the Little Soap Comapny have their own online store. This means you can benefit from free next-day delivery, if you have Amazon Prime.
Subscribe And Forget About It
You can even subscribe to the automatic delivery service. All you have to do is choose the frequency you want to get your shampoo bar and that’s it. You will receive an email a few days before your solid shampoo is sent, so you can adjust if necessary.
Order once and then forget about it. You’ll never run out of shampoo ever again. It’s easy to cancel or skip a delivery, if anything in your life changes. It doesn’t get more convenient than that.
And on top of that, you can even save money if you set up the subscription service.
Results
But let’s move on to one of the most important factors: results. Let’s face it: this Eco Warrior shampoo bar review would be pretty useless, if I didn’t cover this, right?
I opted for the deeply nourishing shampoo bar, with pink clay. I have very thick and long hair, which needs as much moisturising it can get.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the fresh scent of orange, from essential oils. It wasn’t very strong, but that’s not unusual for solid shampoos that don’t use synthetic fragrances.
After washing my hair with the Eco Warrior shampoo bar, my hair felt clean and smooth. Then came the big test: how manageable would it be? Because my hair is so thick and long, it can sometimes be a nightmare to brush, especially when it’s wet.
My Hair Was Easy To Brush
I’m very pleased to report that this solid shampoo made my hair very easy to comb, without the need to use a conditioner. I have come to expect that from bars that use natural ingredients, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Once dry, my hair was soft and shiny. What’s more, the longer I used it, the healthier my hair looked. Clearly the pink clay is a great moisturiser. I know that for many people, the scent of their hair is important. That’s an area where this shampoo bar doesn’t perform as well.
Once dry, the lovely fresh scent has gone. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that only synthetic fragrances manage to produce a strong scent that lasts a long time. But they are also terrible for our environment.
On the other hand, essential oils, which are used in the Eco Warrior shampoo bars, are less strong, but much better for the planet. I personally don’t need my hair to smell of a strong perfume any more. It’s a question of preference, so a choice you have to make for yourself.
Ease Of Use

On the whole, shampoo bars are fairly easy to use. Because the Eco Warrio shampoo bar is pH balanced, which means it contains natural surfactants, there isn’t a transition period. This also means it works well even in very hard water, which is what we have.
The Eco Warrior solid shampoo lathers well, which makes it easy to distribute the lather all over my long and thick hair. With some shampoo bars it takes me a while until all my hair is lathered up, but with this one it’s quick and easy.
I rub the wet bar directly on my hair until it’s fully lathered up. I found this works best for my thick hair, but you can lather it up in your hands and rub the lather on your hair instead.
Not Made For Smaller Hands
The only tricky thing is keeping hold of the bar when it’s wet, and I’m rubbing it on my head. It’s a 100g bar, which is great because it lasts a good while. But it’s also quite big, which makes it difficult to use when it’s wet and slippery.
This mightn’t be a problem for everyone, but I did struggle a bit. I have used other solid shampoos that were the same size, but they were curved so that they would sit nicely in my hand.
It’s not a big problem, I can manage, but it would be great if the Little Soap Company would adjust the shape so that even people with smaller hands, like me, can easily keep hold of their bars.
Range Of Products
The next factor I want to look at in my Eco Warrior shampoo bar review is the range of products that the company offers. We all have different hair that has different needs.
The deeply nourishing shampoo works a treat for my long thick hair. But the range also includes bars for dry hair, which is also excellent for curly hair. There is a solid shampoo for sensitive scalps, a purple bar for blonde hair and a blue bar for brunettes.
Get A Solid Bar For Every Occasion
There is also a men’s edition, which is for all hair types. I assume it will also work for women’s hair though.
The Eco Warrior range also includes body bars, face bars and shave bars. No conditioner bars though, but then, you probably won’t need one anyway.
The Little Soap Company has a wide range of other eco-friendly products, such as dog shampoo bars and candles.
Quality
When I buy personal care products, like shampoo, I want good quality. The good news is that because eco-friendly companies select their ingredients very carefully, they choose high quality.
With their aim to create eco-friendly products, they also focus on harnessing the power of nature to make their products effective. And the Little Soap Company is no exception.
They replace all these cheap and nasty ingredients, such as SLS, parabens, sulfates, sorbates and silicones, with natural, plant-based alternatives in their Eco Warrior shampoo bars:
- Clay (white and pink)
- Shea butter
- Oils (argan, coconut, sage, etc.)
- Marshmallow extract
- Panthenol
Each ingredient is selected for its properties to make your hair healthy. So you can be sure that it will look and feel beautiful.
Value For Money

Quality ingredients are important, but it shouldn’t cost the earth. So will you get value for money with the Eco Warrior shampoo bar?
The 100g bars will last as long as three liquid bottles, according to the Little Soap Company. In my experience, it will last about three times as long as your liquid shampoo. This makes the solid shampoo more cost-effective than most liquid ones.
And if you subscribe to the automatic delivery service, you can save even more money. That’s a great plus point.
No Plastic, Only Natural Ingredients
But for me, value for money isn’t just about price. It’s also what you get for it. And here, the Eco Warrior shampoo bar scores above any conventional liquid shampoo.
Natural, plant-based ingredients that will keep your hair healthy and looking great. No nasties that could harm you or the environment. And best of all: no plastic!
This is what great value for money looks like.
Customer Reviews
I have shared my experience with the Eco Warrior shampoo bar with you, but I also want to see what other customers think. After all, the more happy customers, the more peace of mind, right?
The Little Soap Company has 4.9 stars out of 5 on Reviews.io from over 1,400 reviews. The vast majority are really happy with their products. 98% said they would recommend their products to others.
Many point at the eco-friendliness that they love, but many also find that the high-quality natural ingredients are better for their skin. This just shows how good the quality of their ingredients is.
Not Every Customer Is Happy
Their customer service and delivery stats are also pretty impressive, with 98% of orders being accurate and delivered on time. And customers say that queries were solved in under an hour, which sounds like great service.
As always, there are some negative comments too, but they are mostly about deliveries that didn’t arrive. When large quantities are shipped out daily, things go wrong on occasions. But what is important is how the company deals with it.
And from the replies the company gives to the negative complaints, they are eager to rectify any issues. That’s what I want to see.
Does what it says on the box. Tried numerous soaps and shampoos from very expensive to the least expensive. They all contained harmful chemicals which damage the skin. This is the first soap and shampoo that appears to be gentle on the skin. Noticed that my scalp does not itch the next day like it did with various shampoos. Highly recommend these products.
5-Star Review on Reviews.io
Absolutely love these soaps. I will never go back to shower gels and shampoos that aren’t pure natural ingredients. They lather up lovely and leave my skin fresh and soft. I’ve even got my grown up boys using them.

Verdict
All that’s now left to do in this Eco Warrior shampoo bar review is to give you my verdict. I can highly recommend these solid shampoos.
The use of high-quality, plant-based ingredients will make your hair look and feel gorgeous without impacting on our environment.
The soft lather makes it easy to distribute the shampoo all over your hair, even if it’s thick and long like mine.
The size and shape of the shampoo bar makes it a bit difficult to hold on to when wet, at least if you have small hands. But it’s a small drawback for what you get.
A zero-waste solid shampoo that works even in very hard water and won’t make you go through a transition period. So if you are looking for a shampoo bar, this one is highly recommended. Just try it!
