Why I Chose Miniml

I came across this UK-based sustainable brand by accident, and I am glad I did.

They started the company because they wanted to change the way people use cleaning products. To do this they created a closed loop refill system.

You buy their products in 1l or 5l refill containers. Once you have emptied them, you can send them back to them for free.

This is easy: you just complete a short form on the Royal Mail website to create a free returns label. Put it on your box and dorp it off at a Post Office.

Miniml then clean the containers and refill them. So there is no waste at all. They also sell re-usable dispenser and spray bottles, which are meant to be re-used for a very long time.

I absolutely love this system, because it reduces the amount of plastic that they need. So they don’t contribute to the demand for more and more plastic.

One thing that would make this system even better though, would be to sell the cleaning products as concentrates.

That way their products would weigh less and take up less room during shipping, as a result, they could reduce their carbon footprint even more.

They produce all their cleaners in the UK to reduce their carbon footprint, which is great, but I would like to see them sell concentrated products.

Another thing I love about Miniml is that they only use natural ingredients. No nasty chemicals that will harm your health or our planet.

I love this transparency, because it means you know exactly what’s in their products.

That’s why I will make my Miniml cleaning products review as useful as possible for you, so that you can make a decision without worrying.

The review will be based on different factors, which are all important when deciding to switch, including value for money, results and ease of use.

Convenience

I will start my Miniml cleaning products review by looking into how convenient it is to buy their cleaners. I know myself that unless a product is easy to get, I won’t bother.

The good news is that you can order Miniml cleaners online via their website. 

The website is a bit complicated. When you go to the ‘household’ section, it gives you the products in the reusable bottles or the kits.

To find the refills, you have to go to the ‘subscribe and save section’, which is a bit confusing. It would be better if there would be an option to choose whether you want the bottles, refills or kits on each product page.

But once you have understood how their site works, you won’t have a problem finding what you are looking for.

You can pay using a debit/credit card, as well as ApplePay and GooglePay. So there are different options that will suit most people.

You can also sign up to their subscription service, which means you order once, tell them how frequent you want your products and then forget about it.

I think that’s pretty convenient, and you save money by signing up for their automatic delivery service.

There are also refill stations for their products across the UK. So if you have one near you, you also have this option, if you prefer.

The next factor I want to look at in my Miniml cleaning products review is their range of products. 

When you decide to switch to an eco-friendly cleaning routine, you want to be able to replace all your household cleaners. So it is important to know that your chosen sustainable brand can furnish you with everything you need.

Miniml‘s product range is quite extensive, giving you everything you need for a clean home:

• White vinegar
• Anti-bacterial surface cleaner
• Washing-up liquid
• Floor cleaner
• Rinse aid
• Multi-surface cleaner

They also sell laundry liquid and fabric softener, as well as personal care products such as hand wash, body wash and bubble bath, shampoo and conditioner and body lotion.

And your dog can also go eco-friendly with their dog shampoo.

So if you were to switch to Miniml cleaning products, you would be able to get everything you need to clean your whole home.

Effectiveness

One of the most important factors when deciding to buy a new product is effectiveness. After all, what is the point if the cleaners don’t work?

So there was no way that I would leave this out of my Miniml cleaning products review.

The overwhelming majority of their customers think that Miniml’s cleaning products work great.

Especially the white vinegar seems to be a hit with many consumers. They can be bought in two variations, one is scented with lemons the other unscented.

Both work great to get rid of limescale and soap build up, leave windows streak free and is used by many as a general cleaner. The new multi-surface cleaner also seems to be a hit with many customers, who especially love the blood orange smell.

The washing-up liquid comes in a variety of different scents, which caters for a wide range of tastes. It foams up well and cleans even very greasy plates well, which many customers have pointed out.

There is a myth that says that only harsh chemicals can make cleaning quick and easy. This is not true at all.

Most natural cleaning products can be used just as a chemical cleaner. And Miniml‘s cleaners are no exception.

However, using milder ingredients, sometimes the cleaners need a bit more time.

The toilet cleaner you have to leave for 10–15 minutes before giving it a brush and flush. But that is fairly standard with non-bleach cleaners.

On particularly bad shower screens you might also want to leave the white vinegar for 10 minutes or so before wiping. 

But this is a small compromise compared to the fact that you can ditch toxic chemicals by using Miniml cleaning products.

Value For Money

I want to move on to my next factor in this Miniml cleaning products review: value for money. For many people this is important, after all, you don’t want to overspend.

Compared to most big brands, Miniml is priced quite reasonable. Especially if you buy the big 5l containers and sign up for their subscription service.

So you wouldn’t be left out of pocket. But you get so much more than just cleaning products. For one, you can free your home from nasty chemicals and plastic waste.

And you also get household cleaners that work and will make your house look, feel and smell clean.

With Miniml you can also be sure that you support a small business that wants to make a difference. They sell eco-friendly products because they believe that it’s the right thing to do.

Unlike other big corporations who sell a sustainable range to cash in on people wanting to do their bit for the planet.

I don’t know about you, I would say this is great value for money.

Customer Reviews

Looking at customer reviews is a big part of my Miniml cleaning products review, because you want to know what other people who use their products think.

The good news is that Miniml are rated excellent on Trustpilot, with a 4.2-star rating from over 1,000 reviews.

82% of customers rated them as ‘Great’ or ‘Excellent’, which isn’t bad at all. What they love the most is how well the products work and the closed loop system, that allows them to get rid of plastic waste in their homes.

The 11% of customers who left a 1- or 2- star review were mostly complaining about deliver and customer service issues.

Although it does appear that their delivery times are still slower than what most people expect from online deliveries. I guess we have all been spoilt by Amazon.

One thing I like is that the company replies to most if not all reviews. In fact they reply to 98% of all negative reviews trying to sort out any issues that occurred.

Things sometimes go wrong, that happens, but it’s important how a company deals with it. And it looks like most of the time, Miniml provides great customer service.

I am now coming to the end of this Miniml cleaning products review. I am very pleased to say that I can recommend their natural household cleaners.

Without using harmful chemicals, these cleaning products are effective at keeping dirt at bay. The great majority of their customers agree.
